after a good sunday at church, where we got to hear Jared Dickerson speak before leaving on his mission, we went to grandma's house for another good meal. we had turkey, vegetables, bread, macaroni, and our favorite chocolate chip pies for dessert. after lunch, we went down to the cemetary and saw grandpa arnold's grave. elise was so tender as we stood there. she had me lean down to where she could whisper and said, "i bet DD sure misses her husband." i thought it was so touching and thougtful of her. when mama told grandma what she said, grandma said to her, "yes elise, i sure do!" elise and halle were very interested in the whole cemetary concept and wanted me to tell them about each tombstone and who was buried there. my favorite story is that granpa arnold was buried at the back of the cemetary because he always liked to sit in the back pew at church. after we spent some time reminiscing there we went the the granite quarry where grandpa arnold used to work. mama told some stories about how she remembered grandpa taking her out there & about what a dependable and dedicated worker he was. after leaving the quarry we went up to the salem area where grandpa arnold & grandma delia had their first house & where grandpa arnold's parents lived. i never realized that the little house there was where grandma & grandpa used to live. anyway, from there most everyone went to the high school to see it and to throw ball. (i missed the memo on this one, but from what i hear it was a lot of fun.) everyone went back to grandma delia's to visit after touring. at some time, lisa, me, ethan, adam, nate, alayna, logan & daniel all played go-spel. that is one of our favorite games. everyone just enjoyed being together and visiting on our last night together. the company and kinship was really nice and comfortable.

7 rays of sunshine:
I agree with all you said...such a nice time together!
Thanks for the pics. A tip I also told Sherita is you can post all your pics in one blog entry if you want.
how?
Okay, I found out it is not as easy as I thought before. When you add a picture, make sure you click on the CENTER option. Keep clicking on the little image button to add more pictures. Each picture you add will actually be placed at the very top, which makes it tricky if you want the pictures in a certain order. Upload all the pictures BEFORE you write any captions. Place the cursor under a photo and type the caption. I am working on my blog right now posting pics.
Kristen, will you explain all the blog sites? Like, why is there a "Sechrest Family" and "Texas Jarrells" blog?
texas jarrells is my uncle's site (he's my dad's brother). and he's from texas. you may see him comment from time to time...i think his screen name is mojarrell. sechrest family is one my mom started to keep in touch with uncle wayne & aunt verona's families.
I had fun looking through your pictures again and reading the comments. Lots of good memories!
