poetry

i have a couple of shel silverstein books & over the weekend i was reading "falling up". i came across a couple of cute poems that i wanted to share.

Snowball

i made myself a snowball
as perfect as could be.
i thought i'd keep it as a pet
and let it sleep with me.
i made it some pajamas
and a pillow for its head.
then last night it ran away,
but first--it wet the bed.

Crystal Ball

come see you life in my crystal glass--
twenty-five cents is all you pay.
let me look into you past--
here's what you had for lunch today:
tuna salad and mashed potatoes,
green pea soup and apple juice,
collard greens and stewed tomatoes,
chocolate milk and lemon mousse.
you admit i've told it all?
well, i know it, i confess,
not by looking in my ball,
but just by looking on your dress.

He has some cute poems. The snowball one especially makes me smile. Can't you just see a child putting a snowball in the bed and coming to that conclusion? :)

He has a book called "Who Wants a cheap Rhinoceros?"

It was always one of Hannah's favorites...
